Born and raised in Southern New Hampshire, April Cushman has always been a country girl at heart. From Sheryl Crow to John Mayer, Dolly Parton to Miranda Lambert, April has a deep passion for music.
Growing up, she was gifted with her first guitar at just five years old from her Grandma and Grandpa, that she quickly learned to play, with the guidance of her father.
April was part of “The Key of G”, a children’s choir at her hometown church where her and her father attended mass every Sunday, and was heavily involved in school music, including concert band and honors jazz band, where she played guitar, flute and alto saxophone.
April currently resides in Swanzey, NH and is touring New England full time with her band. Members of her band include: Steve Moreau (Guitar/ Vocals), Nathan Ratliff (Drums), Chris Mahoney (Bass) and Jim Eibner (Pedal Steel). From covers to originals, April and her band love performing for all audience types whether it be small town summer concert series, or opening for national acts.
Some national acts that April will be playing with this summer of 2018 include Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker, Russell Dickerson, Chase Rice and Easton Corbin.
Nominated as 2017 New England Music Awards’ and 2018 New England CMA’s Country Act of the Year, April is an old soul in today’s country music scene!
